Delivering centralised alarm reporting and improved compliance visibility across Leicester University’s campus
Leicester University previously operated a smartwatch system installed by another provider using 3G routers due to limitations in existing IT infrastructure. Over time, the system became unmanaged as responsibility passed between different incumbents, creating reliability and operational challenges across the estate.
The university required a more dependable and scalable solution capable of improving fire safety visibility, supporting compliance management, and enabling efficient alarm reporting to central security.
Drax Technology, alongside CDS, replaced the existing smartwatch infrastructure with a robust internal communication system integrated with the SafeVue dashboard.
The solution enabled alarm reporting directly to central security while improving visibility across the estate. Real-time data and monitoring capabilities supported proactive fire safety management and strengthened compliance processes across the university’s building portfolio. Ongoing support contracts ensured continued reliability and long-term operational support.
